How Do You Help Straying And Homeless Animals?
No matter where you live in this country you have at some time seen animals that seem underfed, homeless, or in distress. With a little time and effort, you can help these animals find a better life. If you ever see, or hear of, an animal being abused or neglected, call the A.S.P.C.A. immediately. You could be saving an innocent life. Keep an extra collar, leash, and small bag of treats in your car. The collar should be adjustable but not a choke collar. A rope will do for a leash. If you have these supplies in your car, you will be able to pick up any strays your meet. Take the animal to the nearest no-kill shelter or your local A.S.P.C.A. If you absolutely cannot stop, phone for help. Keep the appropriate number on hand. Volunteer at your local shelter. You may be cleaning cages, doing laundry, washing dishes, holding young or frightened animals, or walking dogs. Whatever you do it will be helping homeless animals as well as lessening the burden on an overworked staff. Donate to orga
