SIDS or Sudden Infant Death is characterized when a baby usually under the age of 6 months dies suddenly without cause. There are a few easy measures to take to help prevent SIDS. Place your baby to sleep on his/her back. Place your baby on a firm mattress. Do not let your baby nap on cushions, pillows or couches. Remove any toys, loose blankets and bumpers from the crib.
