Children often get frightened and fear the dark. There are a number movies about monsters, vampires and werewolves. Little ones are exposed to so many scary things that they can let their imaginations explode, especially at night. Is that monster living under the bed? Is that creature lurking in the closet? Parents often feel at a loss to find ways to calm the nighttime terrors and fears of their children. Here are some ways to help children with fear of the dark. Read an uplifting book to your child before going to bed to help with fear of the dark. If they insist that you stay, remain close. Watch in the hallway until they fall to sleep.
