How Do You Help Children With Anxiety & Depression Disorder?
Childhood depression and anxiety is a challenging issue for both parents and child alike. It is normal for children to experience some level of anxiety and depression and isn’t always a bad thing. When depression or anxiety interferes with day-to-day routines it is time to take action and find ways to solve the issue. With patience and diligence, parents can help children with their anxiety and depression issues. Start by talking with the child that is having anxiety or depression. Take notes in a journal about how they are feeling and the issues that are bothering them. Encourage them to also keep a journal to help write down their problems and anxieties. Spend time each day writing in the journal with the child and encourage the child to do the same. Work through the depression and anxiety together. When the child is anxious help them to understand the root of their anxiety and that having stress is normal. This is the same for depression. Help the child change routines and behaviors
