Shyness can be nearly debilitating for those who suffer from its effects, which include inability to find the right words, blushing or trembling, all of which only make the problems of shyness worse. Children, faced with new life experiences, may find comfort in their introversion, or they may merely have no way to process their fear of these new experiences or an unusual amount of attention. Sometimes the classroom can cause shy students to withdraw or to feel pressure and anxiety when feeling forced to participate in class or be the center of attention.
