How Do You Help A Boxer Puppy That Has Diarrhea?
Illness is an unfortunate byproduct of pet ownership. From time to time, pets are going to fall ill. This includes puppies, some of which–for whatever reason–can be stricken with diarrhea. For those whose boxer puppies come down with a case of diarrhea, there are certain measures one can take to help remedy this situation. Diarrhea in boxer puppies–and all puppies, for that matter–can range from soft to watery. If the diarrhea is extremely watery, or if you are simply very concerned at your puppy’s health (sluggishness, lack of appetite, etc.), consult a veterinarian immediately. If you are not extremely worried, or if the diarrhea is more soft that watery, follow some of the steps below. Keep the puppy hydrated. Start out trying to get the boxer puppy to drink water. If this doesn’t do the trick, attempt to use pediatric electrolytes to help spur hydration. Should the puppy refuse these liquids, try adding chicken broth to a liquid to entice the puppy to drink. Feed a pet yogurt.
