How Do You Have Perfect Pitching Mechanics From The Stretch?
Pitching from the stretch is vital to pitching effectively. It is important to deliver a pitch quickly with no wasted movement. The goal is to keep runners close to their bases and prevent them from steal bases. Put your right foot square to front of the pitching rubber. Place your left foot in front of you pointing your foot towards home plate. Your feet should be a little wider than shoulder width apart. Your glove hand should be on your left thigh. Your right hand should hold the ball and be placed on your right hip. Now is when you will get the sign from the catcher. Once you get the sign, it is time to get into the set position. Bring your left foot back toward your body so your feet are at shoulder width apart. At the same time bring your hands together. Now is when you will put the desired grip on the ball. (Remember to keep an eye on the runner.) Bring your left knee back toward your right knee to load up you weight on your right side. (This should be a somewhat quick movement)
