How Do You Have Fun Playing High School Varsity Softball?
• Get to know your teammates. Interact with the girls on personal levels – chat in the locker room, in the dugout, on the field, etc. Plan and go to softball-team-only parties. Build friendships! It’s always more fun to run suicides when you’re good friends with all of your teammates. • Get to know your coaches. They may act like heartless animals, but chances are, they’re not. Learn their names, do what they ask cheerfully, and include them in your fun. While it helps if your coaches are easy-going, it’s up to you to extend the hand of friendship. You want your coach on your side! • Look at hard work-outs optimistically. There’s nothing worse than scowling the whole time. Loosen up and laugh while you practice sliding – it’s all good for you! If you laugh, everyone else will immediately have a better time. • Be forgiving. Treat your teammates like favorite sisters – their failure disappoints you, but you know they can do better and will next time. • Be free with praise and careful wit
