Relay for Life is the signature event for the American Cancer Society to raise cancer awareness and much needed funding for community cancer programs and research. It is an overnight event because cancer never sleeps. Relay for Life is made up of teams that fundraise and promote the event throughout the community. A team is typically 8 to 15 people of all ages. Being a captain for a Relay for Life team can challenging and rewarding. It takes a special person to bring a team together for this special event. It also takes time and effort to be successful. But, in the end it will be well worth it! Putting A Team Together Members of your team should include people that you get along well with, people that you can count on, people who love to have fun, and people who are committed to your vision.
