How Do You Have A Books, Buddies & Brownies Reading Day?
Get ready, because it is time for a Books, Buddies and Brownies Reading Day in your classroom. Every teacher can used the help and students in the classroom can always use reading practice. What can be more fun than a setting of two buddies with their books, reading and eating brownies? Read on! Devote a day or an afternoon to reading in your classroom. Choose a day and create a clever flyer for your students to take home and give to a “buddy”. The buddy can be a parent, grandparent, neighbor, aunt, uncle, old friend. Each child will invite one buddy. (In case a student is unable to find someone who can come, check with people you know to be possible stand-ins.) Read. Have your students choose a few of their favorite books. Let them practice reading them the week before the “event”. Remember, as the week goes along, hype it.
