The versatile hard-cooked egg, also known as hard-boiled egg, is easy to fix when you know a few tricks. Place eggs in the large saucepan, fully covered with cold water. Bring the water to a full boil and place the lid on the pan. Reduce the heat to simmer and allow the eggs to cook over low heat for 12 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and drain the eggs.
