Displaying an old antique quilt is like hanging a work of art on your wall. It could be one you made yourself, one you have bought or a family heirloom. Put on your goggles. Keep them on until you are done drilling. Drill two holes on each end of the 1×8 from top to bottom 6″ way. Drill two larger holes for your rope about 2″ away from your bolt holes toward the inside of the 1×8. this will be used to hang your quilt. Put your bolts in the 4 holes you drilled in your 1×6. Lay this 1×6 on the floor with the bolts sticking upwards. Lay your quilt right between the holes for your rope on top of the 1×6 with a little overlapping about 4″ or so. Now slide your other 1×8 over the top of the quilt onto the bolts. Tighten all 4 nuts as tight as it will go. Be careful not to bust your lumber. Thread your rope through your holes and tie a knot tight in one side and wait to completly tie the other knot to make sure they are even. Knots will be in front of your 1×6 lumber.
