How Do You Hang Laminated Fascia Boards?
You can hang laminated fascia boards in much the same way as other types of fascia, but this material often requires an anchor piece to help secure it. For this reason, installing laminated boards can take a little longer than wood or aluminum siding. Measure and install a 1 to 1.5-inch-thick wood board to act as a support for the laminated fascia. The wood does not have to be painted, although it should be primed, sealed and as straight as possible. Poke at the ends of any previous wood fascia to see if it needs to be replaced. As long as the wood isn’t rotting, you can install the laminate fascia right on top of the older material. If the wood is thicker than 2 inches, consider taking it down or sanding it, since you don’t want the new fascia to extend out past the lip of your roof.
