How Do You Hang An Electrical Conduit?
Electrical conduit protects wiring from physical damage, moisture and electrical interference either indoors or out. Conduit sizes range from a quarter inch in diameter to four inches. Whatever size or type of electrical conduit you install, conduit clamps will be used to hang it. The clamps can have either one or two mounting holes, and your decision between the two will depend on space, craftsmanship and weight considerations. Note that you need to have enough mechanical and electrical experience to know the difference. Place the conduit in the clamps and place the assembly in the position you want to hang it. Most conduit clamps fit tightly enough on the conduit that they will not fall off. Use the marker, pencil or pen to indicate where the hole or holes of the clamps line up on the wall or ceiling where the conduit will be hung. Drill holes at the marks for your anchors or screws. Drywall or masonry walls or ceilings will need anchors. For wood, drill a pilot hole for a wood screw
