How Do You Hang A Window Box?
Are your windows plain from the outside? Mounting window boxes full of blooming flowers can add that splash of color your house needs. Window boxes can also bring in the butterflies and birds to visit your miniature flower bed. Hanging a window box is fairly easy, requiring just a few tools and an hour of your time. Mark the mounting location. Follow the window frame down and mark 1 inch under the window sill. Mark this area on both sides of the window to mark the top of the bracket. If your windows swing out, be sure to measure down 6 inches instead of one. Install the first bracket. Line up the top of the bracket with the pencil mark 1 inch under the window sill. Mark the bracket at almost the bottom of the first piece of siding. Use the countersink bit to put a hole through the bracket and the siding on the mark. Put a 3-inch decking screw through the hole, fastening the bracket to the house. Use a drill bit that will attach to the screw. Hold a level against the side of the bracket
