To avoid seeing the bulb in your wall sconce, hang the fixture between 70″ and 78″ inches from the floor. For higher ceilings, place the sconce at 78″ inches above the floor. For candelabra wall sconces, the fixture can be placed as low as 66″ from the floor. For hallways or other high traffic areas, place the wall sconce between 72″ and 78″ inches above the floor Measure the height of your ceiling and based on the above guidelines, determine where the wall sconce should be placed.
