How Do You Grow Blue Star Creeper (Pratia Angulata)?
“Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment we’re going to learn all about the blue star creeper. It’s a gorgeous ground cover from New Zealand. Now pratia angulata, which is the blue star creeper, is native to New Zealand and in a little set of islands that’s near Australia. Now they can handle quite cold conditions and very similar to the northwestern part of America. So the blue star creeper thrives in zones 7 and 8. They don’t really like hot climates and they don’t like really cold climates. But you can treat them as an annual or put them inside for the winter if you live in a colder climate too. Even when they’re not in bloom, the blue star creeper is a gorgeous plant. This is the fall so they’re actually turning their fall colors. But all summer they are kind of a silvery color on the foliage and I love them. They’re a ground hugging mat and they have small bright green leaves.
