Many people think that orchids are difficult to grow, but they are very easy to grow and maintain if you know the secret! Orchids are easy to find in stores. They can be expensive, but you will find that discount stores, such as Wal-Mart, carry them a lot of the time. You should be able to find an orchid with 2-4 blooms, already potted, at Wal-Mart for $12-15. It should come planted with Sphagnum moss. If not, buy a small bag of this moss while you are there. Bring your new orchid home and find a really sunny spot indoors for it. Ideally, it will be in a window sill or next to a window, in fairly bright sunlight for the majority of the day. If the orchid does not have moss covering the dirt, get the Sphagnum moss that you bought and put enough to cover the top of the dirt/base of the orchid stem. Next, water your orchid.
