How Do You Groom A Chinese Shar-Pei?
Chinese Shar-Peis are very loyal, friendly dogs. They have a lovable bunched up face, similar to a bulldog. They become very attached to and protective of their family, but also behave well around most strangers. These dogs have a very low maintenance grooming regimen. They need a once monthly general grooming and a full grooming once every 8 to 12 weeks. Clean ears before bathing. Chinese Shar-Peis have large ears which tend to collect a lot of dirt and grime. Clip whiskers with scissors if you choose. Remove shed hair with a rubber brush while bathing your dog. Dry the folds of the dog’s skin after a bath. Hold up the folds of skin and blow dry on medium heat, being careful not to burn/overheat his skin. Apply baby powder in the folds of the skin after drying. Spray the dog’s coat with a light gloss spray for a nice sheen.
