A cavadoodle will need to be brushed at least every other day to avoid becoming matted. It should be bathed once a month and not any sooner than that otherwise it will dry out their skin causing them to itch. Be sure to use Shampoo made for dogs .If you use human shampoo you will dry out the skin because we have a different PH balance. Basically when you give the dog a bath yourself when you put on the shampoo get the shampoo into a nice lather. Take a slicker brush and brush the dog with the shampoo on. This will get the dog really clean to the skin. After that you can put on conditioner and repeat the process. Then thoroughly rinse and towel or blow dry.
