Millions of people will watch the famous ball drop as the clock strikes midnight in Times Square, New York City. Being there and experiencing it live is a much more memorable experience than viewing it on television. Know that the best way to get to Times Square is via public transportation. Parking in midtown will be a nightmare and you most likely will still have to use public transportation to get close enough to Times Square. On the subway, the # 1,2,3,7,9,A,B,C,D,E,F,N,Q,R,W,V and the Times Square shuttle all stop at 42nd street. Get there early. The best viewing places are often taken by midafternoon. The extravaganza can best be seen along Broadway from 43rd Street to 50th Street and along Seventh Avenue as far as 59th Street.
