The three Rs used to stand for reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmetic. In our environmentally conscious effort to go green, the three Rs mean reduce, reuse and recycle. By keeping these three words in mind you could save money and energy. Doing your part could help sustain the environment. Reuse: Keep plastic grocery bags for other uses. While walking the dog use these bags to clean up after your dog. Sometimes newspapers are delivered in a plastic bag, this type of bag works well for cleaning up after your dog. Use the grocery bags as a trashcan liner for smaller trash cans. Use in the bathroom or bedrooms. Use rags for cleaning. Cut worn socks in half and use as rags or to polish shoes. Rags can be washed and used again, paper towels can’t be wash repeatedly. Use cloth napkins. Use cloth napkins at mealtimes instead of paper napkins.
