How Do You Give No-Lead Pewter An Antique Finish?
Pewter items display less shine than silver, and are often valued for their lived-in, antique look. Apply a simple chemical solution to antique no-lead pewter, effectively dulling its shine and giving it an antique appearance. Clean the item to remove dust and dirt from the surface. Use a clean cotton cloth and water to remove accumulated grime from the no-lead pewter piece and a cotton swab for the details. Gently dab the surface to remove excess moisture. Apply pewter cleaner to a cloth and gently rub the cloth over the pewter item, taking care to not be too aggressive.
