Many lizards and reptiles, bearded dragons included, need water but don’t readily drink from water dishes. Since they don’t drink enough water, they need baths to help them absorb it. These simple instructions will help you to accomplish this successfully. Give your bearded dragon a chance to warm up before you attempt to give it a bath. Even warm water will drop the dragons body temperature. Do not attempt the bath for the first couple of hours after turning its lights on for the day. The container needs to be long enough to hold the dragon…so that it can stretch out without touching the container sides. The container also needs to be deep enough to not allow the dragon to climb out. When filling the container, keep in mind that the dragon will need warm water, NOT hot. Think a little warmer than baby water. Fill the container so that the water is just slightly higher than the dragons back, but not over its head. Gently place the dragon in the bath.
