The following steps will help you paint your toes to perfection. Pour nail polish remover on a cotton ball. Wipe your toenails clean to remove any old nail polish, dirt and other substances on the nails. Make sure to get in the cuticle lines and crevices. Use a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to get in the crevices. Clip the toenails down so there is only a small amount of nail left. Avoid curved or rounded edges as these can possibly cut into your skin as they grow out. File your nails down to make the toenails as straight, flat and even as possible. Place toe spacers between the toes. Cut thin pieces of white sticker or nail strips. Place the nail strips across the nails slightly back from where the natural line ends.
