How Do You Get The Mildew Smell Out Of Bath Towels?

0

If you’ve ever left your towels in the washing machine for too long, you know that musty mildew smell. When damp towels are left in a dark place for any amount of time, mildew seizes the opportunity and moves right in. This smell is terrible and may remain even after washing the towels again. There is, however, a simple solution for this. Fill the bathtub, sink or container large enough to hold the towels with hot water. Make sure that the towels are completely submerged and add 2 to 3 cups of baking soda. Leave the towels to soak overnight. Wash the towels in the morning with a bleach-free detergent. Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. If the weather permits, hang the towels outside to dry. If not, put them in the dryer with a scented fabric softener sheet.
