How Do You Get The Correct Pressure In A Bladder Tank?
When the bladder pressure tank pump cycles on and off rapidly or more than five times per hour the water pressure in the house is not good. You may notice lights in the house flickering when you use the water. Check the air pressure in the tank when this happens. Bladder pressure tanks come pre-charged with air from the factory. They must have the correct amount of air to water ratio. The air expands and contracts the water out of the tank when the tap is opened. When the pressure drops too low, water pressure complications occur. Disconnect the electrical power to the pump. Open the closet faucet, and drain the tank. Use a bicycle tire gauge, and check the pressure in the tank by placing it on the air-charging valve on the top of the tank. Use an air compressor, and add air if the air pressure is more than 2 psi below the pump cut-in pressure. Release air pressure if it is below. Restart the pump. Run through a normal cycle to ensure the setting is correct.
