Don’t fear, coffee lovers, there is a remedy for this; if you’ve never tried it, do your co-workers a favor and perform this magic the next time coffee burned at the bottom of the pot jeopardizes your morning cup-a-joe. Making sure the pot has cooled completely off and the coffee is hardened (crusty, almost) at the bottom, pour enough salt to cover the bottom of the pot–all over the crusted-over coffee. Next, toss in four or five large, square ice cubes (or several more if they are smaller) on top of the salt. Finally, add enough water to barely cover the ice cubes in the coffee pot.
