Practice shooting with the correct form and the strength and distance will come. Practice the correct form with the ball resting on your shooting hand, other hand steadying the ball on the side of the ball, shooting elbow in square and tight, and let ball roll off of your finger tips as you extend your arm Straight out. You can even lay on a bed or something and practice shooting the ball above you, catch it and shoot it again. Repeating the correct form will help you better your shot. I was the same way at your age, you learn the right way, but then move out farther and begin using your strength in you chest and arms to shoot rather than using the correct form. It’s a hard thing not to do. But, you have to train yourself to shoot with the proper form and the accuracy, strength, and distance will follow.
