How Do You Get Shoe Polish Off Fabric?
Shoe polish stains can be challenging to remove from clothing. However, you can remove shoe polish from clothing; you just have to work quickly and have the right supplies on hand. Try to wash the garment as soon as possible; the longer the polish has to set into the fabric, the harder it will be to remove. There are two different types of shoe polish: liquid and paste. The methods differ slightly, and removing paste requires a little more work. Step 1 Use the dull side of a knife or spatula to scrape excess shoe polish off of the clothing. This step is only necessary if you are working with a stain from paste shoe polish. If you are removing a liquid shoe polish stain, skip this step. Step 2 Wrap a paper towel around your fingers, and gently blot the stain, using different parts of the paper towel each time you blot.
