How Do You Get Rid Of Yellow Mustard Algae In Swimming Pools?
Do you have what looks to be sand in the bottom of your pool? Does is cloud up when you brush it? Does it seem to get worse every day? Sounds like you have a case of mustard algae. First you must determine if the problem is in fact a mustard algae problem. If clouds up when brushed, if it is yellow/brown or greyish in color and seems to keep getting worse, or if it doesn’t go away when brushed, then mustard algae is probably your problem. Many pool professionals would recommend a sodium bromide product (yellow out, green to clean) but I will tell you that you will have much better success with a different product. You need to shock the pool pretty heavily (usually triple times a normal shock treatment which is 3 lbs per 10,000 gallons of swimming pool water).
