This will teach them that they do not need it at all times. A good way to start them getting used to not having their pacifier is to only let them use it at bedtime. Then they are pacifier free during the day and you do not have to worry about remembering it when you leave the house. Cut the tips of the pacifiers you have around the home. This gives less of a sucking notion to them and this is a good way to get rid of them. They may be less interested in them because they will have a different feeling.
