you would be best to strip out the existing silicon,you can usually peel it out or screwfix direct have silicon eater,which breaks down the seal and makes it easier to remove.Then when you have cleaned out joint apply a sanitory silicon,like Unibond anti mould,which contains fugicides to prevent mould.The chances are when you did the original sealing that you used a sealant with no fungicidal properties,like standard glazing silicon which is no good for area that are prone to excessive moisture and humidity…Hope this helps!!
