You get out your Windex, and soon your glass is shiny and streak-free. Then you step back to realize that your trim has a big stain. How can you get rid of the stain without damaging the trim? Put a few drops of mild dish soap on a washcloth that has been soaked in hot water. Ring the cloth out and rub it back and forth on the stain until the stain comes off. This method works well on food-related stains. Dip a hot washcloth into lemon-scented Pledge. Rub the stain back and forth with the washcloth. This method is great for wood trim, since it won’t damage the wood. Pull out a few baby wipes and wipe the stain several times. If the stain is a bit greasy, this is the method you should use. As long as the baby wipes are not scented, you can be sure they won’t damage your trim. Mix equal parts of vinegar and ammonia in a bowl. Dip a rag in the mixture and rub it over the stain. Repeat until the stain is gone. This method has an added bonus of also removing any odors caused by the stain. P
