How Do You Get Rid Of Mildew Smell From Towels?

0

Mildew smell in towels is a common laundry problem. The mildew odor can be caused by a few different things, such as a dirty washer, using too big of a load which decreases your washer’s power and efficiency or not allowing your towels to dry all the way. Once your towels have absorbed the mildew smell it can seem like nothing gets rid of it, even rewashing multiple times. Baking soda is a great tool to use to combat the mildew smell. Add the towels to the washer as you would for a regular load. Avoid over-packing the washer, as this decreases the efficiency of the washer, causing foul smells. Turn the washer’s water setting dial to the hottest setting. The hot water helps kill the mildew and remove the odor. Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the load of towels. Pour in the desired amount of laundry detergent for the load size. Start the wash cycle. Once finished, place the towels in the dryer on the hottest setting. Allow the towels to dry completely; you may need to use two drying cycles
