It’s distressing to find an ink stain on your clothing. Ballpoint ink used to be almost impossible to remove. Then someone had an emergency and tried this common household product. It worked! This article will tell you the easiest way to remove ink stains. Determine if the stained item is washable or dry clean only. Lay the stained item on a hard surface, such as a kitchen countertop or bathroom vanity top. Put some paper towels beneath the spot. Spray the spot with hairspray. If item is washable, rub a little detergent into the spot soaked with hairspray. Scrub lightly until the stain disappears. Rinse and repeat if necessary. If any color still remains, pretreat with an oxygen cleaner and launder as usual. If item is not washable (dry clean only), blot the hairspray, using some paper towels underneath and a paper towel on top to blot the stain. Repeat if necessary. Then use cleaning fluid if any marks remain.
