How Do You Get Rid Of A Cyclic Redundancy Check?
Getting error messages from your computer’s operating system can be both confusing and frustrating. One of these errors is the Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) that is returned by Windows. This is an error that can occur frequently when certain optical media like CD and DVD drives are in use. A few basic steps can help you get rid of Cyclic Redundancy Check errors. Keep your CD and DVD drives clean. Buy a lens cleaner disc and use it regularly. Check for scratched or damaged CDs and DVDs. Paper labels, or discs that were not burned correctly, can also be the issue. Replace these discs to correct the CRC error. Inspect the cables and connections for the CD and DVD drives. Make sure they are secure. Test your CD and/or DVD drives for proper function, as a failing drive will cause CRC errors. After following Steps 1 through 3, insert a CD or DVD disc that you know to be good in the drive and test it. If the drive fails to read the disc, you likely have a failing drive.
