How Do You Get Professional Music Composition & Notation Software For Free?
For the composer or songwriter who’s dying to use a well thought out, professional scoring interface, but doesn’t have infinite funds to purchase big name notation software which can run in the $150.00 to $800.00 ballpark, I recommend trying out MuseScore, a program that, in my opinion, offers a very comparable interface at NO cost. Scroll towards the bottom of this page, under “Resources” click on “Go to MuseScore.org” (you can also download your desired version directly by clicking on the “Download Windows Version,” or “Download Linux Version” resource links located in the same page region…using this option you can skip steps 2 and 3). In the top right hand of the MuseScore.org page, click on the “Download Free” tab. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and chose the appropriate version of MuseScore for your OS: Windows or Linux.
