How Do You Get Motion Sensor Lights To Shut Off?
Sometimes older motion sensor lights can be turned on—either by someone walking toward your home or a stray animal—and simply not shut off for hours at a time. This can be a draining to both your patience and electric bill, but there are ways to temporarily turn those lights off until you can have them properly inspected and repaired or replaced. Lower the sensitivity settings on the light sensor. This is easily done by adjusting a knob or slider, depending on your model of motion light. Turn off the circuit breaker leading to the light in question. The downside is that this will shut off the light completely, but it is at least a surefire way of doing so. Simply remove the battery if your light is not connected to any kind of hard circuit. Remove the light bulbs. If the light has been on for some time, be sure to wear protective gloves as the bulbs will be quite hot.
