Practicing any musical instrument takes time, determination and focus. Many children may have enough time, but are in short supply of determination and focus, which can make getting a kid to practice a difficult chore. There are some helpful steps that can be taken to encourage children to practice their instruments, however, and have a good time doing it. Eliminating roadblocks and providing incentives can help a kid become more interested in practicing. Establish a practicing area for the child that is secluded and private. A regular area for the kid to practice helps remove stalling and legitimate excuses for not practicing.
