How Do You Get Half-Price Broadway Show Tickets?
Any New Yorker knows that the best and most convenient way to save money on Broadway show tickets is to stand in line, bring a book or your iPod, and wait your turn. So, if you’re a New York tourist and you haven’t planned on seeing a show because of the cost, do what the natives do. Read on to learn more. Go to the Times Square TKTS booth, if you are staying in midtown or uptown Manhattan, to get half-price tickets to Broadway shows. The best time to get in line for tickets is at 1 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays in order to get same-day tickets for evening productions. The ticket booth is open from 3 to 8 p.m. To purchase same-day matinée tickets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, get there no later than 9 a.m. and the ticket booth is open between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. On Sundays, the booth sells matinée tickets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets for evening shows are available from 3pm until closing.
