How do you get half a cork out of a bottle of wine when you cant reech it?
This is St N’s daughter responding – I’m a wine consultant. If you are not in a hurry to drink this wine, there is a corkscrew designed to specifically pull out corks in this type of situation. Unfortunately, you probably don’t have it as very few people even in the wine industry have bothered to invest in one. It is referred to as a “saver corkscrew” and essentially it is a handle with two metal prongs coming out on either side of it pointing down. One of the metal prongs is slightly longer than the other and you put both prongs into the neck of the bottle and then twist while pulling up. It will get the cork out still intact and you can drink the wine. I’ve included a link that shows a picture of this corkscrew so you know what you are looking for.
