Few things are less inviting during hot summer months than cloudy pool water when you want to take a dip. It’s hard to have confidence that the pool is safe to swim in when you cannot see into it clearly. Algae growth, unbalanced pH levels and not enough chlorine can cause cloudy water in a pool. A pool filtration system that is not working properly can also result in murky water. Completing a few maintenance tasks can help eliminate cloudy water in the pool and give you the crystal clear pool water you desire. Run the pool pump for 24 hours straight, then check the pool water. The pool water runs through the pool filter and traps dirt and debris that may cloud up the water. Running the pump constantly gives the filter adequate time to trap all dirt and scum in the pool. Check the pool filter screen for rips or clogs.
