How Do You Get Boring Homework Done?
• Get any equipment that you will need first, such as calculator, ruler, pen, pencil, etc. • Warm up your brain. Read a magazine, a chapter of a novel, listen to your favorite song, check your Facebook for new messages, comments, etc. Use this time wisely and don’t IM your friends or slump on the couch. As tempting as it may be, your schoolwork needs to be finished and before you know it, it’ll be over! • Slowly read through your homework. This shouldn’t take too long, but should be quietly without any distractions. • Start your homework. When you get stuck, ask your parents or older siblings for help. Try not to get caught up in a show or anything else your siblings/parents/friends are doing. While you are doing your work, you can listen to music. Try to listen to something soothing and don’t have the volume up too loud. Remember that rap, rock, and techno beats aren’t going to help you finish, but choose something that you enjoy.
