How Do You Get Best Out (Wireless) Of Buffalo N Type Router?

You won’t get any better speed or reception unless your computer also has a wireless N rated card. Everything is limited by the slowest common denominator. I got better reception out of my Buffalo unit by reflashing the firmware with an open source 3rd party firmware called Tomato. Not the easiest thing in the world, so you may not want to do it if you’re a technophobe. In general, check with Buffalo’s support site for a Buffalo firmware update and install it. Sometimes the router has a firmware upgrade option built into the setup menu as well. Then basically set everything to automatic or default settings, making sure N mode is enabled. Security settings shouldn’t cause you any problems. I’d recommend WPA2.
