How Do You Get Automatic Windows Updates?
Windows Updates provide your operating system with important security and software updates. You can manually update Windows, but if you don’t want to take time once a week to keep your operating system up-to-date or have trouble remembering to do it, you can set Windows to update automatically. Go to the “Start” menu and choose “Control Panel.” Click on “Security Center” from the control panel. Select “Automatic Updates” in the window that comes up. Select “Automatic” to have Windows automatically download and install updates for you. Pick a day of the week and a time for Windows to check for updates. When Windows finds updates are necessary, it may need to restart your computer in order to install them. Therefore, choose a time of day when your computer will be on, but you will not be using it. You can have Windows check for updates everyday, but once a week is sufficient. Click “Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them” if you want to control when you computer
