How Do You Get Acrylic Paint Stains Out Of Fabric?

0

Painting is a messy business, no matter how hard you try to stay neat and clean. Even for a professional, sometimes it is impossible to keep acrylic paint from dripping and staining anything from your shirt to your expensive sofa. There are methods that can be used to remove paint stains from several types of fabric, so you can save your precious belongings and a few bucks at the same time. Scrape off any excess paint left behind with a blunt knife or a traditional paint scraper. Place the item under warm water to flush out the stains. Combine equal parts warm water and liquid dishwashing detergent. Vigorously rub the stain with a sponge that has been soaked in the dishwashing mixture. Rinse the soap mixture. Rub the stain with the sponge until it is completely removed. Remove any paint that still remains after several attempts by dabbing on a small amount of liquid acetone, such as nail polish remover, with a cotton swab. Rinse away any acetone that remains with water.
