How Do You Get A Zipper To Work Smoother?
There’s nothing more exasperating than a stubborn zipper, especially when it’s on an article of clothing that cost you top dollar! You’ll probably be surprised to learn that the zipper was invented in 1913, and has been sticking ever since. Luckily, Grandma discovered long ago the solution to making a zipper work more smoothly, and her “secret” will work as well on your designer clothes as it did on Grandpa’s dungarees. Step 1 Lay the clothing on a flat surface, with the zipper open and facing up. Step 2 Rub both edges of the zipper gently with a bar of soap, using a corner of the bar and taking care not to get the soap shavings on the material. Step 3 Turn the item inside out and repeat the process on the reverse side of the zipper. Step 4 Run the slide of the zipper up and down eight to 10 times; the zipper will now work smoothly.
