Are you going to visit a friend or family member in Russia? If you are staying in a private residence while on your trip to Russia, you must apply for a private or a home stay visa. First of all, you need a letter of invitation from a friend or relative in Russia. Ask the person you are visiting to go to a local Passport and Visa Service office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and obtain the invitation letter.
