How Do You Get A Replacement Automobile Title?
When an automobile loan is completely paid off, the car’s buyer is issued the title of the automobile by the state. If you need to sell your vehicle or if you want to use the vehicle as collateral for a loan, you will need to be able to present that title. If you have misplaced your automobile title, you can request a replacement title from the motor vehicle department in your state. While the process to obtain an automobile title varies from state to state, getting a replacement title can typically be done either by mail or in person. Open a web browser and go to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicle’s “50-State DMV Links” (see Resources). This page provides a directory of links to the Department of Motor Vehicle in each state and Washington, D.C. Choose your state from the list of DMV links. The link will take you directly to the main page of the state’s DMV. Navigate to the replacement title section on the state’s DMV page. This option is listed on the main page of some state DMV s
